Telford man, 32, who assaulted policeman ordered to stay off the booze

Christopher McGuinness, aged 32, assaulted the officer in Telford on May 11 last year.

McGuinness, of Buttery Grove, Oakengates, Telford, pleaded guilty at Kidderminster Magistrates Court to assault by beating of an emergency worker.

Magistrates handed him a six-month community order, which includes an alcohol abstinence requirement of 60 days and 15 rehabilitation activity days. 

McGuinness was also ordered to pay the officer £100 in compensation, £85 in prosecution costs and a £114 victim surcharge, leaving him with a total court bill of £299.
