Shifnal Town Council will be holding an extraordinary meeting on Thursday - February 6.

The meeting will take place at 6pm at Shifnal Community Hub.

Councillors will consider a motion that would see an 8.83 per cent increase on the town council section of a council tax bill for 2025/26.

If approved it would mean the average Band D property would pay £159.94 for the year - an increase of £12.98.

The proposal is to raise a precept of £577,399.

The amount would go towards a planned annual budget of £635,572, funded by a £58,172 contribution from reserves.

Limited seating is available - ten seats, so any members of the public wishing to attend are asked to contact the council to book a space - by emailing info@shifnaltowncouncil.gov.uk or calling 01952 461420.
