One person taken to hospital after two-car crash on Shropshire/Powys border
Emergency services were called to a crash on a major road between Shropshire and Mid Wales.
The incident, on the A483 at Pant, happened at around 2.40pm today (Thursday, February 6), with ambulances, police, and the Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service all called to the scene.
An update from the fire service said the incident had involved two cars, with one fire crew dispatched to make sure the vehicles were safe.
Reports from the scene said traffic had backed up in both directions, with significant delays.
An update from the West Midlands Air Ambulance confirmed the air ambulance had attended.
A spokesman said: “We were called at 2.32pm to a road traffic collision on Station Road Pant to Lynclys in Pant. One ambulance, a paramedic officer and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Cosford attended the scene."
West Mercia Police said the force had initially been contacted about reports of a five-car crash.
A spokesman said: "We received a report of a five-vehicle collision on the A483 at Llynclys at around 2.50pm today."
They added that one person was taken to hospital, and that no arrests had been made.
