Police seize vehicle after reports of horse and trap racing on major 'A' road near Market Drayton
Police have seized a vehicle that was involved in horse and trap racing on a major 'A' road.

West Mercia Police PCSO in Market Drayton, Tara Carruthers said officers were called to the A53 near Hodnet on Saturday morning after several reports of horse and trap racing on the highway which was making it dangerous for other road users.
A number of vehicles had fled prior to police's arrival, but officers were able to intercept and seize one vehicle which was involved and had no tax.
A post on the force's Neighbourhood Matters page said: "Officers in Market Drayton attended the A53 near Hodnet this morning (February 8) due to several reports regarding horse and trap racing this morning on the highway, making it dangerous for other road users.

"A number of vehicles had already left prior to our arrival however PC Twist from Response shift Team D seized one of the vehicles still on scene involved for no tax and it is now safely at our depo and off the road.
"We will continue to patrol this road to ensure the highway is being used as it should and that road users are not being put in danger.
"We strive to keep the roads Safer for everyone to use so please ensure you tax your vehicle otherwise you risk us taking it away when we catch up with you."
