The local authority is responsible for the management of several car parks around Telford's shopping centre, including Southwater multi-storey, Euston Way at Telford Central railway station and Dark Lane in Telford Town Park.

Now, the council has proposed an increase in parking charges in some of its car parks.

An increase of 50p per hour for those staying for more than one hour is proposed for Dark Lane, Euston Way and Southwater multi-storey.

On Sundays, those parking on Dark Lane would pay a flat rate of £3, up from the 2024 cost of £2, while the £2 flat rate Sunday charge at Southwater and Euston Way would remain the same.

Those parking between 12am and 6am on Addenbrooke House and Darby House car parks would also see an increase of £1, but charges remain the same at other times.

There appear to be no current plans to increase car parking at council-owned car parks in Ironbridge, with the exception of the day rate for buses and coaches which would increase from £20 to £30. The same increase would apply to buses and coaches using the Dark Lane car park.

Documents detailing the proposed order can be viewed online at telford.gov.uk/TRO or during normal opening hours at Darby House, Lawn Central.

Objections to the proposal should be submitted on the website or in writing before Friday, Feburary 28 by email to traffic.schemes@telford.gov.uk or to in writing to: Telford & Wrekin Council, Neighbourhood and Enforcement Services, Darby House, Lawn Central Telford, TF3 4JA.
