A Rhayader councillor has resigned after about three years in the role.

Lisa Lloyd told the town council about her decision recently.

At January’s town council meeting, Rhayader Mayor Councillor Clare Evans said: “We thank Lisa for her hard work for the town council and I know she will be missed.

“We wish her well and maybe she will come back on the town council if circumstances change.”

Lisa’s resignation means there is now one vacancy on the town council and after there was  no formal request received for an election, the town council is now able to co-opt to fill that vacancy.

At the same meeting the town council welcomed new member Rachel Smalley.

Anyone who would be interested in joining the town council should contact the town clerk Julie Stephens at clerk@rhayader.gov.wales for more information.
