Olivier Goral was due to go to trial this week, after he previously denied kidnapping his victim, as well making threats to kill her.
The 20 year-old of Plantation Close, Newtown, had also denied stalking the complainant as well as stealing her mobile phone. All charges relate to incidents that occurred in both Newtown and Abermule on November 21, 2022.
But at Merthyr Tydfil Crown Court on Monday, February 10, Goral changed his pleas to the stalking and theft charges, admitting guilt.
After discussions, the kidnapping and threats to kill charges were withdrawn, with the prosecution offering no evidence.
Goral had previously admitted two other offences, of damaging a tyre belonging to the complainant, as well as possessing a knife in the Lon Rhosod area of Newtown.
Judge Jeremy Jenkins ordered all options pre-sentence report and adjourned the case until March 10 for sentence.
Goral remains on conditional bail, the condition being that he must not contact the complainant via any means.
