As a change from their usual live meeting open to the public, they are hosting a talk by Zoom by Dr Jennifer Rudd, an expert on climate change.:
Dr Rudd said: “The world is experiencing the disastrous impact of the climate crisis and is currently off-track to avert further impacts.
“In 2022, the Welsh Government and Plaid Cymru jointly invited an independent group to explore how Wales can speed up its transition to net zero, and how amending its target to 2035 from 2050 could be made possible.”
In this talk Dr Rudd, co-chair of the sub-group on education, work and skills and senior lecturer at Swansea University, will provide an overview of the group's work, key findings and what the report could mean for climate change, education and future employment.
The talk will cover what will education and work look like across Wales by 2023, how could Wales feed itself, how could Wales meet energy needs whilst phasing out fossil fuels, how could Wales heat and build homes and workplaces and how could people and places be connected across Wales.
