The Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service posted about the incident on social media, reporting a house fire in Ludlow this morning (Tuesday, February 11).

They said that firefighters had rescued a man and a woman, and were working to extinguish the blaze.

The Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service said the incident was on Mill Street with the first report, describing a house fire, coming in at 9.10am.

It was reported that the incident involved a small fire in a living room, which has been extinguished.

It has now been confirmed the fire involved a log burner and a wood stack.

The service said four crews from Craven Arms and Ludlow were at the scene.

A post on social media said: "Crews from Ludlow and Craven Arms are at a house fire in Ludlow.

"Firefighters have rescued a man and a woman from the property and are now wearing breathing apparatus and using hose reel jets to tackle the fire."

The West Midlands Ambulance Service confirmed it had attended and assessed the two people rescued from the house.

A spokesman said: "We were called to reports of a fire at a private address near Bell Lane, Ludlow at 9.15am. We sent two ambulances to the scene where, on arrival, crews found two patients who were assessed before being discharged with selfcare advice.”
