Family-owned House of Yum has been a Shrewsbury favourite since it launched in The Market Hall nearly nine years ago.

Now, responding to the huge demand for an evening menu, the business has now taken over the former Sprinters Coffee Shop and Bodytech Health Club in Mardol to open a second venue.

The new opening was announced via House of Yum’s official social media channels. Owners of the business also said they were “overwhelmed with the amount of love [they] have received” but have not yet confirmed an opening date.

The Instagram post said: “A huge THANK YOU to everyone for the most amazing response to us announcing our second location, House of Yum at Mardol!

“We're pretty overwhelmed with the amount of love we have received from you guys!

“Lots of you have been in touch asking for more info... we can tell you it's all systems go right now with renovations, we can't wait to open our doors to you all!

“We don't have an opening date yet, but watch this space! We will be updating our socials with all the relevant info as and when we can!

“Until then, we are open for your Thai fix in the wonderful @markethallshrewsbury for lunch and takeaways!”

House of Yum serves a range of Thai dishes from green curry to fried duck and has won a number of awards over the years including Market Trader of the Year at the Shrewsbury Mayor’s Award 2024.
