The council advertised the role recently to try and recruit someone to undertake a variety of tasks within the community including weeding, helping to look after the toilets etc.

New member Councillor Hannah Hill asked if the council had said in the advert that they could provide equipment etc, because she said that was something she was told may affect a response to the advert.

The council said they had just asked for a self-employed person.

Rhayader Mayor Councillor Clare Evans said she thought the council should now break down the tasks requested in the job advert and see if they can get a contractor for at least some of the jobs.

Members agreed that the clerk should look into breaking down the demands of the role, to see if they could find someone to do some of the tasks involved.
