Woman with 'potentially serious injuries' rescued from scaffolding after incident at home near Shrewsbury

A woman with "potentially serious injuries" had to be rescued from scaffolding after an incident at a house this morning.

Four fire engines and paramedics rushed to an address off Leigh Road, Minsterley, near Shrewsbury. Medics and fire crews got her down and she was taken to Royal Shrewsbury Hospital by ambulance.

A Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service spokeswoman said: “At 10.36am on Friday, February 14, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting an incident classified as ‘urgent’ in Shrewsbury.

“Crews assisted Ambulance lifting a casualty.”

The fire engines, including the aerial ladder platform and rescue tender, were sent to the scene from Shrewsbury and Wellington, along with an operations officer.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: " We were called to an incident on Leigh Road in Minsterley at around 10.25am and sent an ambulance, a paramedic officer and the Trust’s Hazardous Area Response Team (HART) to the scene where, on arrival, crews found a woman with potentially serious injuries. She was treated by ambulance staff and taken to Royal Shrewsbury Hospital."
