Llanbister Show invites artists and photographers to compete at this year's event
Dust off your cameras or canvas, the first Radnorshire agricultural show of the season is calling for entries for their new attractions.
Llanbister Show, as ever the first of the local season, comes up on Bank Holiday Monday, May 26 with traditional and fresh activities and attractions.
Organisers want to give plenty of notice to amateur artists and photographers of this year’s competitions – art by adults and photography.
Art by Adults is for over 16’s. They must present an original and preferably recent piece, 2D or 3D but it must be portable and it must be your own work.
It can be in any medium. If 2D, do not frame, unless with a mount only if appropriate or the frame is an integral part of the artwork. Do not sign, but please put name and contact details on the back of the picture, underneath the object or in an attached, sealed envelope.
Certificates and modest cash prizes for first, second and third placed entries will be awarded.
The Photography competition is for under-16 and 16-plus years.
An original and preferably recent photograph in colour or black and white is required and it must be your own work. Do not frame, unless with a mount only if appropriate.
Please put name, your age group (under or over 16) and contact details on the back of the picture or in an attached, sealed envelope.
There will be trophies for the first, second and third placed entries.
The theme for both competitions is ‘Nature and Food’.
Entries must be received between 12 and 1.30pm in the craft tent on show day, or in advance by arrangement to The Old Village Store, Llanbister.
