A car crashed into a lamp post in a Shropshire town last night

The incident happened in Tetchill Brook Road in Ellesemere.

Paramedics were not required on the scene, however the fire brigade were there with Shropshire Council workers and electrical engineers.

A Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service spokeswoman said: “At 9.14pm on Friday, February 14, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting that a road traffic collision had taken place in Ellesmere.

“One vehicle in collision with road furniture. Car has been made electrically safe by fire service personnel.”

One fire engine was sent to the scene from Ellesmere.
