Telford's fundraising am-dram group, The Crown Players, are warming up for their annual pantomime which helps raise thousands of pounds for good causes.

Last year they raised over £6,000 for the Midlands Air Ambulance with their performance of Sleeping Beauty and since they formed in 1981, they've donated more than £146,000 to local and national charities.

This year, the group will be performing Mother Goose at the Charlton School in Wellington to raise money for Severn Hospice.

Liz Corbett, who has been with the group since they formed in the 80's, is co-producing the show this year.

She said described this year's panto as a good old-fashioned panto, with "lots of booing, lots of hissing and lots of audience participation".

"It's a feel-good family show, all about being happy with what you've got," she added.

The cast is made up of 21 performers aged from seven to their 80s, some of who have been with the Players since the beginning.

The show will open on Monday, February 17 and performances will run until Saturday, February 22.

The show starts at 7pm on most nights, except for Friday when it begins at 6.30pm and on Saturday, when performances will take place at 1.30pm and 6.30pm.

Tickets for all performances cost £8 for adults, and £4 for children and concessions. All profits will be donated to Severn Hospice.
