Sid’s Plaice, in Princess Drive, Bridgnorth, has been a fixture in the community for the last 13 years.

The team behind the business announced the closure via a post in the Bridgnorth News and Views Facebook group.

They thanked their customers for their support and asked them to show the new owners “the same love” when the fish and chip shop reopens in a few weeks.

The post said: “Sid, Dal and the team thank you for your custom over the 13 years we’ve been here!

“Reopening with new owners in a few weeks - please show them the same love you’ve shown us!”

Sid’s Plaice served all the classics, from fish and chips to battered sausage and donner meat. The business took over a former wine shop when it first opened.
