Thomas Sheridan, 33, of Plough Road, Wellington, was caught when police visited his home on November 9, 2021, and seized his phone.
Appearing at Shrewsbury Crown Court he admitted four charges - three counts of making indecent photos of children, in categories A, B, and C, as well as one charge of possession of an extreme pornographic image.
Danny Smith, prosecuting, said Sheridan had 43 category A images - 12 which were readily accessible and 31 which were inaccessible.
He also had two category B images which were accessible, as well as 29 which were not, and another 15 category C images, which could also not be accessed.
The court was told how some of the images were of children as young as four- years-old being sexually abused by adults.
Mr Smith said the age of the children in the images ranged from four to 12.
