Boyan Beshirov, 35, from Bullfields, Snodland, Kent, admitted one charge of driving with excess alcohol when he appeared at Telford Magistrates Court.
The court heard that the Bulgarian national had a previous conviction for drink driving.
Prosecutor, Kate Price, said that police had come across Beshirov’s Toyota Yaris “purely by chance” as they discovered it stopped with the engine running in the carriageway on Donnington Wood Way, Telford, at around 1am on January 14.
She said Beshirov was asleep in the driver seat, with police noticing that the car had a flat tyre and damage to an alloy wheel.
