A spokesperson for Church Stretton Fire Station said crews undertook a "managed extraction" of the driver, who was then assessed by ambulance crews but did not wish to go to hospital.

Trains were cancelled for the rest of the evening while the vehicle was recovered and an inspection of the lines took place. Disruption continued into Wednesday, with all trains having to run at a reduced speed.
