Residents living in the SY11 post code area were affected by two burst water pipe incidents throughout Thursday.

Severn Trent Water became aware of the first issue at 10.08am yesterday.

Customers were experiencing no supply, poorer pressure or discoloured water due to a burst water pipe.

Engineers were investigating the issue for more than two hours.

An update at 2.49pm said "essential" changes had been made to the area's water network which were causing supply interruptions.

At 5.09pm, Severn Trent was pleased to say that the original burst pipe had been fixed, but engineers then identified a further burst in the area.

A post at 8pm said the repair work was 'complex', and after hours of interruptions for customers in the region, water supplies were restored to normal at around 1.09am (February 21).

A post said: "We’re pleased to inform you that the works in your area are now completed, and the water supply is back to normal. For those that were impacted by this we’d like to thank you for your continued patience whilst this was being carried out."
