A Three Cocks woman has been banned from the road for six months after permitting use of a motor vehicle with no insurance.

Samantha Reid pleaded guilty to permitting the use of a vehicle on the A438 at Clyro without insurance in force, during a previous appearance at Llandrindod Wells Magistrates Court.

But the 46 year-old of Gwernyfed Avenue was given time to present evidence for an exceptional hardship argument, as she already had six points on her licence and was likely to be disqualified from driving.

At the court on Tuesday, Ms Reid said she is not going to lose her job, although losing her licence would be an inconvenience. She said she would take the driving ban on the chin.

“I don’t want to waste anyone’s time,” Ms Reid said.

She was fined £120 and was ordered to pay £90 costs and a £48 victim surcharge. Magistrates placed six points on her licence taking her to 12 points and so she became a totter.

She was banned from driving for six months.
