Drug dealer, 23, caught with cannabis in Telford avoids prison but gets big fine

Aston Williams, aged 23, was rumbled with £1,684 in cash and drugs worth £720 stashed in the glove box and under the seat of a car when he was stopped by police on May 5, 2022.

Shrewsbury Crown Court sitting at Telford Justice Centre was told officers also raided his home, where they discovered another £1,550 in cash, a mobile phone, two sim cards and a cannabis grinder.

Williams told police he was not a drug dealer, however the phone was examined and it was found to have messages indicative of dealing.

There were “bulk” messages to customers, as well as replies asking if he could drop the prices and how much he would charge for three ounces.
