The building, which had lain derelict for decades in Craven Arms, was dubbed an "eyesore" when it was bought by the town council in 2010 in a £35,000 deal.
The Craven Arms Labour Club off Corvedale Road had been unused for years and attempts to track down the owners of the building had proved fruitless.
The future of the venue had even been raised by the then-south Shropshire MP Philip Dunne in the House of Commons in 2007.
