Jason Spragg, 47, and James Thomas, 27, were sentenced for the shocking incident at Shrewsbury Crown Court.

Both men had pleaded guilty to a number of offences on the day of a planned trial.

Spragg admitted charges of threatening his 59-year-old victim with a knife, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, and theft.

Thomas also pleaded guilty to the same offences, along with separate charges of criminal damage and breach of a suspended sentence.

John Oates, prosecuting, said the pair, who both lived at Beaconsfield, Telford, along with the victim, had started calling the man in the afternoon of August 14 when he was in Shrewsbury.
