'A mix of sadness and excitement': Newport clothing shop closing down as owner seeks ‘new venture’
A much-loved clothing shop in Newport has announced it is to close after 18 years.

Daisy Chain in High Street, Newport, launched its closing-down sale today (Tuesday, February 25). It has specialised in all things ladies' fashion, footwear and accessories for the last 18 years.
But on Saturday its owner announced plans for a “new venture” via the business' official social media channels.

The Facebook post said: “With a mix of sadness and excitement, I'm announcing that Daisy Chain will be closing.
“The past year has been tough, and it's time for a new adventure.
“Thank you for 18 incredible years of your support.
“I’m so grateful to every single person who has walked through our doors - you've made this journey amazing.
“I’m excited about my new venture and will let you all know what the next chapter has in store as soon as I can.”
An outpouring of love for the business followed, with customers thanking Daisy Chain for its services over the years in the comments of the social media post.
One customer said: “It was so sad to read this.
“Thank you for [enabling] us to have such a fantastic shop in our beautiful high street. Good luck in your next adventure.”
Another customer wrote: “A wonderful 18 years, Maria! Exciting times ahead.”
