North Shropshire MP Helen Morgan is encouraging people to take part in a consultation over the proposal for pylons in North Shropshire, after updated plans for the project were revealed.
Green GEN Cymru wants to build a pylon line from Vyrnwy in Mid Wales, to Frankton in Shropshire.
The firm has altered some of the route of the proposed plan, and published details of where the 132kv line will go, including the specific location of every pylon.
A new consultation has now opened and Mrs Morgan is encouraging everyone who may be impacted by the electricity line to make sure they share their feedback.
The network would connect a wind farm in Cefn Coch to a new substation near Lower Frankton.
The North Shropshire MP has said she wants the network to be built underground in "areas of sensitivity", such as when it directly impacts on homes, businesses and areas of natural beauty.
As it stands, the only section of the network planned to be underground is the section directly next to the proposed Llyn Lort Windfarm in Mid Wales.
Mrs Morgan is encouraging residents to attend consultation events which start this week and to share their feedback with Green GEN either by writing to them or filling in the consultation form online.
A 3D model of the plans will be available for viewing at each of the events and an interactive map showing where each proposed pylon could be, along with viewpoints from sections along the route, can be seen on the Green GEN website.
Mrs Morgan said: “Local people must be listened to when it comes to major projects like the Vyrnwy Frankton plan.
“Now is your chance to influence the route so I strongly encourage everyone affected by these plans to have their say and contribute to the consultation.
“It is welcome that some feedback has been incorporated into the updated plans but I still believe that the route should be put underground in areas of sensitivity such as when it directly impacts on homes and businesses.”
Meetings will take place at the following locations and dates: West Felton Village Hall, 2pm to 7pm, Thursday, February 27; Hordley & Bagley Village Hall, 2pm to 7pm Friday, February 28; Llanymynech Village Hall, 10am to 3pm, Saturday, March 1; Llanfair Caereinion Public Hall and Institute, 2pm to 7pm, Thursday, March 6; Llansantffraid Community Centre, 2pm to 7pm, Friday, March 7; Meifod Village Hall Community Centre, 10am to 3pm, Saturday, March 8.
