Teen girl suffers 'potentially serious' injuries after embankment fall in south Shropshire

A teenage girl was rushed to hospital with 'potentially serious' injuries after falling down an embankment in south Shropshire.

The incident happened at Clee Hill yesterday evening (Sunday, March 2).

Fire crews were on the scene and a call was made for medics from the specialist Hazardous Area Response Team (HART) to attend.

A Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) spokesman said: “At 6.46pm on Sunday, March 2, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting an incident in Ludlow.

“One female casualty slipped down embankment. Fire crews carried out first aid awaiting arrival of HART.”

One fire engine was sent to the scene from Ludlow.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: "We were called to reports of a patient who had fallen on Clee Hill at 6.31pm yesterday. One ambulance, a paramedic officer and a HART paramedic attended the scene. 

"On arrival we discovered one patient, a teenage female. She was treated for potentially serious injuries before being taken to Hereford County Hospital."
