Shropshire breweries win Co-op deal

Twenty beer, cider and ale producers are celebrating after winning listings with a major regional retailer this month.

The Midcounties Co-operative Food, which operates 14 stores in Shropshire, is to offer more than 45 new products from the 20 drinks producers in its stores in the region.

The new local beers and ales range include products from Hobsons Brewery in Cleobury Mortimer, Salopian Brewery in Hadnall and Ludlow Brewing Company.

Wood Brewery in Craven Arms and Oldfields Cider in Tenbury Wells have also been picked up for sale in the stores, which include the former Harry Tuffins stores.

The new products are part of Midcounties’ Best of Our Counties range, which offers food and drink products from local producers.

Reuben Crouch, commercial director at Hobsons Brewery, said: “We’ve been working closely with The Midcounties Co-operative’s local food team who have been very supportive in helping us to introduce our products to more people in Shropshire.

“We’ve established a good relationship with The Midcounties Co-operative over the years and are now supplying to even more of their stores in the area.

"This has allowed us to further develop our range of products and continue to grow as a business.”
