Morale, a new skate lifestyle store, has taken a letting of the premises at 15 Castle Gates, close to Shrewsbury Railway Station.

The deal was arranged with commercial property agents Cooper Green Pooks, and will see the shop open next door to the Vaults pub.

William Dean of Morale said: “We sell all items that relate to skate culture including footwear clothing and skate hardware. Our goal is to raise the 'morale' of the scene in Shrewsbury.”

The sales area totals 42 sq m (453 sq ft) plus 28.15 sq m (303 sq ft) of good quality basement space. The asking rent was £7,500 a year.

Alessio Dyfnallt of Cooper Green Pooks said: "This property on the main approach to the town centre attracted a lot of interest due partly to its proximity to Shrewsbury’s main train station and good exposure to significant pedestrian footfall and passing vehicles.

"We hope Morale enjoy success in their new location adding to the existing trend for independent retailers in Shrewsbury."
