The plans to build a £5.7 million Travelodge in Southwater in Telford will be put into action next month, and McPhillips is now planning to hold the open event at The Marches Growth Hub at the University of Wolverhampton's Priorslee Campus in Telford.

The contractor is hoping to find partners involved in scaffolding, landscaping, miscellaneous metalwork, painting, plastering, joinery, security, brickwork, paving.

It is also hoping looking for tradesmen involved in aggregates, reinforced concrete work, suspended ceilings, cleaning, fire protection and concrete.

The company said its partners would preferably have five employees or more.

The Meet The Buyer event will take place on Thursday, June 29 between midday and 2pm.

The Travelodge hotel and its attached restaurant or bar will be built as part of the newly revealed Southwater Square at Telford Shopping Centre, and between the two elements create 12 full-time and 29 part-time jobs when the work is complete by spring next year.

The plans will also see a new public green space and events area made available to visitors.

Five full-time jobs are expected to be created at the hotel, while 14 part-time positions will be made available.

The council is still in talks with companies to take over the restaurant and bar space, but the unit is expected to see seven full-time jobs created and 15 part-time.
