'No plans to reopen' as Lush closes Telford store
Cosmetics retailer Lush has closed its store in Telford for the final time.
The store, located in Telford Shopping Centre, ceased trading yesterday to make way for the new Fashion Quarter development.
A statement on Lush Telford's Facebook page announced "with a heavy heart" that it had closed yesterday.
It read: "It’s with a heavy heart that we have to announce that Lush Telford will cease trading.
"The closure is due to development work within the shopping centre and Lush being unable to find a suitable new location.
"Currently there are no plans to reopen.
"We would like to take this opportunity to thank all customers, old and new that have supported us over the past 11 years."
It is not yet known what the future holds for the shop's 13 staff, however a Lush spokesman previously said the company was looking to place them "elsewhere in the business".
The nearest Lush store to Telford is 20 miles away at the Merry Hill Shopping Centre in Brierley Hill, Dudley.
The Fashion Quarter in Telford will see the redevelopment and extension of New Row and New Street, retaining House of Fraser as the anchor, as well as existing tenants Zara and River Island.
Next and New Look have already signed up to be part of the new quarter.
