Police carried out the checks on drivers near Whitchurch.

Officers found two vehicles with no insurance, two with no MOT, two with no road tax, and one person was arrested for positive drug wipe.

Thursday's operation follows several speed checks carried out in February after complaints from residents.

Police officer Deborah Wheeler previously said: “In response to residents’ concerns over speeding vehicles in Whitchurch, officers from the safer neighbourhood team carried out speed checks at a number of locations in the town.

“The drivers were given words of advice. The team appreciated the supportive comments made by several residents who came to speak to us.

“The team will be continuing to carry out speed checks over the coming weeks.”
