Youths apologise for destroying tree saplings at Royal Shrewsbury Hospital
Three youths who destroyed 50 recently planted saplings near an A&E car park will write letters of apology to hospital bosses.
West Mercia Police confirmed the three boys had all been identified and spoken to with their parents.
It comes after the teenagers were seen by hospital security staff pulling up and damaging the young trees at the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital on April 6.
All 50 saplings had been pulled up, thrown around, trampled on and driven over after being left on the road. The cost of the saplings was about £150.
As a result, the Shrewsbury and Telford Hospitals Trust (SaTH) stepped up security at the site.
It has now been agreed that the boys will each write a letter of apology to the chief executive of the trust, as well as attending a hospital volunteering day.
