The Bailey Unicorn caravan was stolen from Capes and McLeod Leisure in Uckington, off the A5.

Owners of the dealership say the thieves gained access by cutting down security posts.

The off-white four-berth 2011 caravan had been sold and it is understood to have been stolen on Saturday night or Sunday morning.

Craig McLeod, owner of the dealership, said it had been the first time they had suffered a theft like it.

Damage caused by the thieves

"It's a bit of bombshell for us," he said. "We started with nothing and 15 years on it's a horrible thing to happen. It hasn't happened to us before.

"You've just got to go on and continue business like usual.

"They've cut down the security posts so we've got to replace all of them – obviously it's been done by very professional people."

The used caravan dealership, which is four minutes away from Junction 7 of the M54, has a selection of between 35 and 45 caravans.

Mr McLeod said: "We believe it was stolen on Saturday night and were notified on Sunday by a member of the public, who had seen that the security posts had been cut down.

"There are cameras around the site but a lot of them weren't pointing in the right direction."

A spokesperson for West Mercia Police added: "Police have received a report of a caravan being stolen from a commercial property in Uckington at the weekend.

"An off-white, Bailey Unicorn caravan has been reported stolen and is believed to have been taken sometime overnight on November 18/19 by unknown offenders."

Anyone with information is urged to call police on 101, quoting incident number 428s of November 19. Alternatively, contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111 or at crimestoppers-uk.org
