Andrew's Family Butcher in Broseley was trashed in one raid

Officers believe that the crimes, which saw large amounts of cash and valuables taken in Broseley and Much Wenlock, are linked and that one offender was responsible.

At least six properties were targeted in the raids, which happened in the early hours of January 13 and January 18.

Both business and homes were targeted.

One of the businesses targeted was Andrew's Family Butchers, in Broseley, and neighbouring restaurant Butcher's Kitchen - which is set to open in two weeks.

A trail of blood was left at the butchers on Barber Row, where the burglar smashed the front door, trashed the shop, trashed the offices and broke into the flat above before fleeing with cash and cheque books.

Officers today issued an update revealing they have identified a suspect but investigations are continuing.

A spokesman from Broseley and Much Wenlock Safer Neighbourhood Team said: "Following the initial enquiries, the descriptions of the offender and the methods used by them appeared to indicate that all of the offences were linked.

"Police have identified a suspect and investigations will continue.

"The victims of the crimes have been updated with the results of the investigation."

No details about the identity or appearance of the suspect have been released.

Anyone with information that is asked to call West Mercia Police on 101.
