Telford & Wrekin's Cabinet will discuss child sexual exploitation in the town this evening.

The only item on the agenda for the public meeting is "Tackling Child Sexual Exploitation Together", which will be led by Councillor Paul Watling.

The meeting will take place at Park Inn in Forge Gate, near Telford Shopping Centre, from 5pm.

It comes just days after it was announced that the national Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse will be coming to Telford.

Investigators will aim to discover the extent to which institutions in England and Wales failed to protect children from sexual abuse.

Victims and survivors in Telford will be able to talk about their experiences as part of the inquiry's Truth Project.
