Birthday, who changed his name from Colin Brewer, was found guilty in his absence after being due to appear at Telford Magistrates Court.

The 52-year-old, of Chambers Lane, London, ignored messages from West Mercia Police asking for the identity of the driver of a Toyota Rav 4 caught doing 52mph in a 40mph zone.

The car was caught on an automatic camera near Shotatton Crossroads on the A5 on March 11, 2017.

Tim Talbot-Webb, prosecuting, said checks had been made to ensure that the original speed camera had been accurate, and that mail was being delivered to Birthday.

But despite repeated attempts at contact, West Mercia Police received no response.

David Silcock, chairman of the magistrates, said: "There was no evidence presented by the defendant. We have heard written statements - policy was followed.

"We find Happy Birthday guilty for failing to give evidence."

Birthday was given six points on his licence and ordered to pay a fine of £1,026.
