Officers swooped on an address in Park Street, Madeley, this morning, the latest in a string of raids across the borough this year.

Police smashed through the door of the property at daylight.

Officers from Madeley, Donnington and Wellington assisted with the raid, after receiving intelligence from local residents, who were concerned about drug dealing in the neighbourhood.

Pc Ian Cole, of Woodside and Madeley Safer Neighbourhood team, led the investigation.

He said: "We executed a search warrant early yesterday morning and cannabis was found at the property.

"The exact amount is still being worked out at the moment and enquiries are on going.

"People contacted us with the information and we acted on it and got things sorted."

Nobody has been arrested in connection with the raid as yet.

Detectives have carried out dozens of drugs raids across Telford & Wrekin this year already as part of a major crackdown.

Anyone who has concerns about drugs in the area should call West Mercia Police on 101.
