Firefighters were called to land off Falstaff Street in Greenfields at 8pm on Wednesday.

They found a car 100 per cent alight and used hoses, breathing apparatus and thermal imaging equipment to deal with the blaze which they had under control within 20 minutes.

"We believe this was a deliberate act," said a spokesman for Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service.

Anyone with information should call West Mercia Police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
