Whitchurch house fire is being treated as arson

Police are treating a fire which broke out at a house in Whitchurch as arson.

Officers from West Mercia Police are now appealing for witnesses or information following the fire on Rosemary Lane which broke out in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

It is believed that the fire was may have been started deliberately and the incident is being treated as arson.

There were no reported injuries.

Pc Nick Peacock said: "An investigation has been launched and officers have been carrying out local enquiries.

"If anyone witnessed the incident, found any discarded canisters near Rosemary Lane that could have had flammable contents or has any information, call West Mercia Police on 101, quoting incident number 849s of 19 March 2019."
