Alleged uninsured hit-and-run driver charged with killing baby boy in Brownhills crash
A Black Country man has been charged with causing the death of a two-week-old boy in a hit-and-run crash in Brownhills.
James Paul Davis, from Walsall, was allegedly driving without insurance when the crash that killed Ciaran Leigh Morris happened on Easter Sunday.
Davis, aged 34, has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving, causing death by driving while uninsured, failing to stop at the scene of a collision and failure to report a collision.
He has been remanded in police custody to appear at Wolverhampton Magistrates Court on Tuesday morning.
Baby Ciaran was being pushed along the pavement by his family when the pram he was in was hit and trapped between a car and a wall.
He was rushed to hospital but nothing could be done to save him.
Dozens of tributes have been left at the scene of the crash and thousands of pounds has been raised for the baby's family.
His parents Camaron Morris and Codie Holyman are both aged 18 and Ciaran was their first child.
They paid an emotional tribute on Monday where they said: “Mommy’s and Daddy’s hearts will always ache, we love you more than anything.
“We didn’t get to keep you for long but we are happy we had the chance to meet you, look after you and call you our son.
“Fly high angel.”
