Ban looms for drink and drug driver
A driver who had taken drugs and drunk alcohol is facing up to a road ban.
Daniel Gentile, 29, was pulled over by police in Whitchurch on July 8 last year when he was seen weaving from side to side and braking erratically in an Audi A3.
Officers found him to be in possession of a bag of cannabis when they stopped him in Heath Road. He was found to have 49mg of alcohol in 100ml of breath - well over the limit of 35mg, and he was also found to have Benzoylecgonine in his system, a substance most commonly found formed by the metabolism of cocaine.
Gentile, of Circular Drive, Chester, pleaded guilty to possession of a Class B drug, driving while under the influence of alcohol and driving under the influence of drugs.
His sentence was adjourned until May 14 and he was given a driving ban for the interim period.
