Road reopens after four arrested over fatal crash that killed three including four-year-old boy

Four people have been arrested following a fatal car crash near Bewdley and Kidderminster that killed three people, including a four-year-old boy.

The collision, between a Ford Focus and an Audi A7, took place on the A456 at Callow Hill at around 10.15pm on Wednesday evening.

Three passengers in the Ford Focus, including a 28-year-old woman, a 32-year-old woman and a four-year-old boy, were sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

West Mercia Police confirmed the road was reopened on Friday night.

Three people in the Audi also suffered minor injuries, and were taken to the Worcester Royal Hospital.

Three men, aged 31, 25 and 18 as well as one boy, aged 17, have since been arrested in connection to the incident and are currently in custody.

Police have since recovered two other vehicles that they believe to have been involved, including a silver Volkswagen Golf and a black Vauxhall Vectra.

Chief Inspector for West Mercia Police, Graham Preece, said: "We know there has been some disruption in the area due to the road closure and I would like to thank people for their understanding and patience as we complete our enquiries.

"As our enquiries continue, we would ask anyone who witnessed to the collision, or was on the road at the time and has dash-cam footage to please get in contact with us."

Meanwhile, tributes have been pouring in as people speak of their heartbreak following the incident.

Many have taken to social media to express their sadness following the incident, and to pay tribute to those who died.

One person wrote, "So sad, rest in peace. Fly high with the angels little one."

Another said: "So heartbreaking for the family, my thoughts are with you and my thanks go to all the emergency services that attended to such tragedies when we need them."

Another wrote: "So terribly sad, heartbreaking news for family and friends who have lost their loved ones. There are no words to say that will ease the pain of such devastating loss. My thoughts are sent (to) everyone involved."

The incident took place near to the Duke William pub, which remains closed.

A spokesperson for the pub, said: "Thoughts are with everyone connected to the collision that happened last night. Even more so to the relatives that have lost their loved ones. The pub will remain closed until further information is given."
