Telford foodbank appeals for help after 'horrible and disgusting' smash and cash grab
A Telford foodbank is appealing for help after a break-in and cash till grab at the weekend.
The Save It Discount Store, in Bridge Road, Wellington, has a discount shop and a foodbank that helps people in need.
Lea Beven, the owner of three such ventures across the country, said: "We have had one thing after the other and this has left us teetering on the edge. Our fridge broke down, we have vehicles that need maintaining and now this. It all has an impact on staff morale.
"I am wondering whether the community wants us any more."
Lea added that they have seen a lot of support since breaking the news on social media on Sunday morning, including an immediate offer of help from Wrekin Housing.
"We have a lot of people coming out of the woodwork to help us and that is wonderful," she said.
