Shrewsbury road taped off and air ambulance called after second attack in less than a day
Four arrests have been made after reports of a man being attacked in a residential street - the second serious assault in Shrewsbury in a day.
Police have taped off Berwick Avenue, Coton Hill and an air ambulance helicopter landed at the nearby West Mid Showground this afternoon.
A spokeswoman for West Mercia Police has now confirmed four people have been arrested in connection with the incident.
It was the second serious attack in the town in a matter of hours after a man suffered slash wounds from a broken bottle in Castle Foregate last night. The is no suggestion at this stage that the two incidents are linked.
