‘Get help’ man advised after spending two nights in cells over court date mix-up
A man has been advised to get a solicitor before he next appears at court facing multiple charges of failing to comply with legal directives.
Liam Thomas, aged 42, from King Street, Dawley, Telford, found himself spending two nights in the cells after a mix-up over court appearance dates meant he was arrested and forced to appear before magistrates in Kidderminster.
Thomas is charged with failing to comply with a ban from High Street, Dawley, on May 27 and June 8. On June 10 he is accused of shouting and screaming threats in sight of a victim, including “You paedo, you f****** paedo" - contrary to the Anti-social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014.
He has also been accused of kicking a vehicle bumper of a woman in Telford on June 22 intending to destroy or damage such property or being reckless as to whether such property would be destroyed or damaged and of failing to comply with a community protection notice on June 22 by allegedly shouting and screaming at people and kicking people’s cars while in King Street, Telford.
On July 25 he was charged with failing without reasonable excuse to surrender at Telford Magistrates’ Court for a hearing there after being released on bail in criminal proceedings on June 22 at Telford Police Station.
