Video shows moment BMW driver charged over level crossing as barriers came down
CCTV footage shows the moment a BMW driver dangerously charged over a level crossing just as gates were starting to go down.
Cameras at Onibury level crossing, where the A49 crosses the Welsh Marches main line between Craven Arms and Ludlow, caught Max Greatrix ignoring the warning lights and moving barriers on June 29 last year.
The clip shows approaching southbound lorries slowing down for the level crossing. Just as the barriers start to move, a white BMW - in the centre of the road - tears over the level crossing and continues heading north.
The 28-year-old had initially denied dangerous driving but was found guilty in his absence at Welshpool Magistrates Court last month.
