Man faces £1,000 bill after failing to turn up at court

A man faces a bill of over £1,000 after being proved guilty in his absence of failing to tell police the identity of a driver alleged to have committed an offence.

Samuel Kenneth Wickes (alias Wicks), aged 36, of Clunton, near Craven Arms, had been charged with failing to give information to police relating to the identification of the driver of a Ford Transit who was alleged to have been guilty of a speeding offence on April 20.
