The Phoenix Academy, in Dawley was shut to pupils in years 7, 8 and 9 after a broken tap flooded part of the school.

But the school is still open for pupils in years 10 and 11.

Russell Griffin, spokesman for Telford & Wrekin Council, said: "The flood was caused by a broken tap, which then leaked into an open-plan space.

"The school has been closed while we deal with the situation and we hope to reopen it tomorrow.

"We should know more information later today."
