Celebrity hair stylist Andrew Collinge, cuts it as a speaker too at Ellesmere College event
One of Britain’s best known hair stylists has returned to his former Shropshire college.
Ellesmere College Parents’ Society welcomed celebrity hairdresser Andrew Collinge as guest speaker at this year’s ladies' lunch.
Andrew, who is a former pupil at the school, was twice British Hairdresser of the Year.
He now has salons, haircare gadgets and other products bearing his name.
Together with his wife, Liz, he appeared on ITV’s This Morning show for eight years, completing over 500 makeovers, and opened a chain of hairdressing salons across the north west.
Guests at the lunch on The Terraces at Ellesmere College, were entertained with stories of Andrew’s successes including his work with royalty, as he styled the hair of Sophie Rhys-Jones for her wedding to Prince Edward, and looked after the hair and make-up of Autumn Kelly for her marriage to Peter Phillips, the Queen’s eldest grandson.
Rebecca Lloyd, co-chair of the parents’ society, said: “We were delighted to welcome Andrew back to his old school for a second time. He is a brilliant speaker and we enjoyed hearing about his fascinating life.”
